Soft May inflation reading may lead to rate cuts later this year – asset managers

A weaker-than-expected inflation reading for May presents a hopeful sign that consumer prices are abating.

Clayton Allison, portfolio manager at Prime Capital Investment Advisors, noted that May’s core CPI coming in lower than expected, brings the “potential for multiple cuts this year back into focus with a full cut getting priced in for November.”
